Najam Sethi to head PCB

Veteran Pakistani cricket administrator Najam Sethi was on Wednesday unanimously elected as the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Miandad also credited Sehti for holding two successful sessions of Pakistan Super League (PSL), saying the PSL had helped in bringing talented youngsters to fore.

With the appointment, Sethi has replaced Shaharyar Khan, whose three-year tenure at the post ended on Sunday, ESPNcricinfo reported.

Sethi thanked all board members for their support after being elected and is expected to speak to the media soon.

Willingham said she was surprised by the outpouring of support. "It was all a joke". Jena Willingham's kids are going back to school, and she ain't even mad.

Sethi had previously served as the acting chairman of the PCB, a tenure marred by court wranglings.

Chief Najam Sethi vows to bring global cricket back to the country after years of isolation.

"Our first task is to make our domestic strong enough so that no one can say that the talent is not being tapped", Najam Sethi said while talking to the press in Lahore after becoming the new PCB Chairman. India has "unofficially" barred Pakistan cricketers from taking part in the lucrative Indian Premier League which hosts a galaxy of star players across the world.

Meanwhile, the former Chairman PCB Shaharyar M Khan has congratulated Najam Sethi on his unanimous election as the Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
