At a show that saw Kendrick Lamar sing with someone who literally set themselves on fire, and Shawn Mendes turning on the charm in a rendition of his hit song "There's Nothing Holding Me Back", Lorde's performance definitely stood out, and not really in a good way.

They had two of the most talked-about performances of the night, but Pink and Lorde's onstage antics at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards couldn't have been any different.

The singer released her second album Melodrama in June to glowing reviews. She didn't sing, but she did get hoisted into the air by her backup dancers.
