Apple releases statement revealing connectivity problems with the Apple Watch Series 3

Apple (aapl) sent a statement to Goode explaining that it had found a bug in the Series 3 watch's connectivity function that it planned to correct.

When Apple announced its newest Apple Watch Series 3 earlier this month, the Cupertino giant made it clear that it wants its users to depend less on the iPhone when sporting the wearable.

Apple has responded however, telling the Verge that it had discovered an issue with the Watch Series 3 connecting to unauthenticated WiFi networks without connectivity, and that it seemed to affect the device's ability to use cellular networks.

Apple replaced Lauren Goode's review unit, but she had problems with the second Apple Watch too.

The headlining feature of the Series 3 watch is LTE connectivity, and it doesn't work as it should - or in some cases, at all.

I have reached out to Apple asking for more information about the update and a possible fix as well as troubleshooting steps users can take once the watch is released.

It became apparent after my first full day using the Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE that something wasn't right.

Problems with Apple watch connectivity cropped up on three different pre-production models, across two states and on two different carriers, Stern said.

"Apple rates the phone-call-on-LTE battery life at one hour, which matches my testing", he noted. "People I called via the watch said I sounded great, and I could hear them loud and clear". The company says it is investigating a fix for the problem. In fact, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon offer service packages dedicated to Apple Watch Series 3.
