BBC News briefings are available for Amazon Alexa and the Google Assistant and BBC Research & Development recently launched an experimental interactive drama, The Inspection Chamber, on Echo and Alexa that will come to other smart speakers in future.

The feature works by asking Alexa to "Wake me up each morning at 8am by playing [song name or genre]".

An update to Alexa's capabilities has now made it possible for Amazon Echo smart speakers to function like the radio alarm clocks of the past. The songs can be chosen from your preferred streaming service including Amazon's Prime Music or partner services like Spotify, TuneIn, and Pandora.

"The All-New Fire HD 8 Tablet with Alexa, 8" HD Display, 16 GB is only $49.99 at Amazon today! You can also ask Alexa to wake you up "every day" to the same song at the same time.

A variety of voice commands can be used to set up these alarms.

The user can choose to play a specific song, artist, album, a radio station or even mood music to begin your happy day. Amazon Music Unlimited also features a rich collection of personalized stations and playlists, all of them being hand-curated by Amazon Music's experts.

Steve Boom, Amazon Music VP says, "Music is such an incredible global connector, and with Amazon Music Unlimited we've been able to give listeners access to an extensive catalogue with the added experience of using their own voice to hear music in so many ways with Alexa".

The feature has not been rolled out in all regions and devices yet. Some are certainly too good to miss out on: the discounted Amazon Fire TV with 4K and Alexa Voice Remote for starters.
