WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange's Twitter account suddenly vanishes; has reappeared once again

The mysterious disappearance - and re-appearance - of the account proved even more weird when the U.S. Navy on Christmas morning mistakenly tweeted out Assange's full name, in quotes, and nothing else.

"The inadvertent tweet was briefly posted for a few second before it was quickly deleted by the same authorized user".

It's been a odd Christmas for media outlets who have been following Assange's social media posts, as his official Twitter account suddenly went off the air late Sunday night, on December 24, according to The Daily Beast.

It's also not even certain if Assange is aware his social media profile went down, at least for public view, as he made several posts on the platform in stride the next morning.

Assange has long used the social media site as a means to communicate Wikileaks' messaging as well as his own while he takes political asylum in the Ecuadorean embassy in London.

Harrison will also serve as insurance for the Patriots with Kyle Van Noy's health status still in doubt. The Patriots have been thin at defensive end/outside linebacker for most of the season.

The new account reportedly said that Twitter has deleted Assange's official handle, and just before a major news story was to be broken out.

Did they raid him?

The official WikiLeaks Twitter account was still live but wasn't mentioning the Assange account.

Others, however, were more buoyant following Assange's online disappearance. "No instead you delete the account of a person who has done nothing wrong", one user wrote.

Assange's account is back up again, though his follower count appeared to have dipped below 10,000 initially.
