Over 160 survivors and family members read victim impact statements in court this month after a weeklong sentencing hearing for Nassar.

Michigan State is named as a co-defendant in civil lawsuits filed by more than 150 women, many of whom claim that coaches, athletic trainers and others at the school ignored complaints about Nassar for almost two decades. Nassar was sentenced Wednesday to 40 to 175 years for molesting young female athletes. "My role going forward, even though I have resigned as president of the university, will remain to do whatever I can, in full cooperation with the university legal team and in any investigations." .
