YouTube TV finally available for latest Apple TV devices

Google just took another step towards making its OTT TV service available on every streaming device. For example, users can download YouTube videos to their device to watch them offline later, a feature that normally requires a $9.99-per-month YouTube Red subscription.

The announcement regarding the launch of YouTube live TV on the new devices was revealed in a tweet from the official YouTube TV account, telling Apple TV users that the capability to use the app on tvOS devices is coming soon.

With its launch on the Roku, America's most popular streaming device, YouTube TV stands to significantly increase the rate of new signups this year.

Existing YouTube TV users can move towards the tvOS App Store to download the app on a free basis.

YouTube TV looks like a pretty sweet deal for those in supported markets. It gives users access to more than 40 TV networks including ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CW, Disney Channel and ESPN.

The company added, "We've been working hard to build a YouTube app that works for you, with brand new features designed with your preferences, aspirations and needs in mind".

The service starts at $35/month, with no contracts and now available in nearly 100, different metro areas covering 80 percent of the US population.

"With all this great content, people are thinking of YouTube more as a key part of their TV viewing experience", said Pichai. The search giant's YouTube TV service is quite intriguing thanks to its paltry $35 monthly fee (often much less than cable TV).

CNET reports the app is also available on Android TV, Xbox One, among others. Hulu also recently launched a live TV option baked into its on-demand platform, and it is simply called Hulu Live TV.
