Colorado Officers Shot, Suspect Killed

Carey said the shooting started during the investigation of a auto theft around 4 p.m. Officers from the Colorado Springs Police Department, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office and Colorado State Patrol all came to the scene at the Murray Hill apartments on the city's east side.

He is survived by his wife and seven-year-old twins.

Police say one civilian was shot and taken to the hospital.

This comes after an investigation into a vehicle theft at the Murray Hill Apartments turned deadly. Authorities responded to the scene in the area of N. Murray Boulevard and Galley Road.

A witness told KOAA-TV that he saw multiple people on the ground and one person being given CPR. "Is this going to be a permanent part of our uniform or can we expect better times?" the Colorado State Patrol's troop based in Sterling said in a tweet. The witness said he heard a few, before there was a break and then heard several more shots and then a final two shots.

Officers encountered an adult male suspect and shots were fired after officers "struggled" with the suspect.

Two other deputies, a Colorado Springs police officer and a bystander were also shot, authorities said. All the victims were hospitalized. Stay with FOX21 for the latest.

Hours later, that's where a procession started to transport Deputy Micah Flick's body to the El Paso County Coroner's Office.

One woman whose husband worked with Deputy Flick remembered him fondly.

It's the same city where Deputy Flick was born and raised and family friends say he left behind a great impact. Two other sheriff's deputies were wounded, but Elder did not disclose their conditions.

Hickenlooper ordered flags flown at half-staff in Flick's honor.
