Xiaomi Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro Launched, Mi TV Next


Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 pro in India on Wednesday unveiling the company's first MI TV alongside.

The Redmi Note 5, a successor to its hugely popular Redmi Note 4, is a 5.99 inch smartphone that comes with full HD display with 2160×1080 pixel resolution. It is the first Redmi phone to feature 18:9 display and dual rear cameras. The Redmi Note 5 comes with 12 megapixel primary camera and 5 megapixel front camera which is supported by LED selfie flash. The Note 5 Pro is not only the first in the Redmi series to rock this facial recognition technology but also the first Xiaomi phone in history. The 6GB RAM variant is a great prospect for users who multitask a lot. Both the will be made available from company's official store, Flipkart and Mi Home starting from February 22, 2018. The Pro variant of the Redmi Note 5 Pro offers premium features like a dual rear camera unit and a better selfie camera as well. More on that later.

The biggest difference, however, comes when you look at the front of the Redmi Note 5.

Interestingly, the new "Pro" version of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 will have a vertical dual camera setup, as in iPhone X.

Coming to the pricing, the Redmi Note 5 Pro with 4GB and 6GB RAM is priced at Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 16,999 respectively. The 65-inch Mi TV 4 is priced at Yuan 9,999 or almost Rs 1,01,599 approximately. The Redmi Note 5 starts at Rs. 9,999 for the 3GB RAM variant, while the 4GB RAM variant will be available at Rs. 11,999.

The Mi TV 4 sports HDR and Dolby+ DTS sound. Vivo V5 launched in 2016 also came with the same 20MP Sony IMX376 camera.

Xiaomi has also announced an introductory offer on the Mi TV 4. The new model features a single cable connection dubbed Mi Port which can connect Mi TV Bar to the display. On top of this, buyers will get free installation - priced at Rs. 1,099 - from the company on purchasing the Mi TV 4 within 3 months of release.
