Preferably, by next year, it would be a mode that other surviving versions of Windows 10 could work in.
Last month, the rumor mill had it that Microsoft would release Windows 10 S as a mode for Windows 10, rather than a separate version. In case it is only for the PC users, things will remain confusing as a mixed amount of devices might get shipped with the mode enabled. It was clear that Microsoft was gunning for Google's position as the go-to device for the education market, although it appears that Windows 10 S didn't catch on well enough to warrant its own full operating system.
Panama hotel evicts Trump executives, removes his name over standoff for control
Fintiklis then sat down at the hotel's piano in its lobby and played a song that included the lyrics, "Fascism will not prevail". In court filings, the Trump Organization called Fintiklis' effort a "design to wrongfully seize control over the hotel property".
The operating system was rolled out in May 2017 as a stand-alone version of Microsoft's OS for desktop.
What do you think of Microsoft's decision to drop Windows 10 S entirely in favor of "S Mode"?
The choice to move to a Windows 10 S mode in their competing devices was expected by many, but it's also muddying the waters and making it more hard to tell which Windows PCs are meant to capture the attention of an education market that is now enamored with Chromebooks. It was previously rumoured that Windows 10 Home users with the by default enabled S Mode will be able to switch to the full-fledged Windows 10 Home for free, while the users with S Mode will need to pay $49 to get access to Windows 10 Pro. Chrome OS and Chromebooks proved popular in the education market, both because of the comparatively low price and ease of use. To make the evaluation process more efficient, Microsoft is using the GPU available on the device. Microsoft's Joe Belfiore confirmed on Twitter that there will be no "distinct version" going forward.
