Florida nightclub loses license after horse brought onto dance floor

And city officials in Miami Beach were certainly not laughing on Friday when they shut down the nightclub for creating what they said was a threat to public health and opened a criminal investigation into whether it had committed animal cruelty.

This story originally appeared on CBS Miami's website.

A second set of pictures show another woman riding a white horse at another South Beach club, Kiki on the River.

The order issued to the nightclub, Mokai Lounge, says the horse was paraded around the venue sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning.

It was not clear who brought the horse or why it was in the club. She noted that the distressed horse would have likely been put down - through no fault of its own - if it had kicked someone and injured them. Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber said.

30000 protesting farmers reach Mumbai, plan to gherao Vidhan Sabha tomorrow
Complete loan waiver and profit of 1.5 times input cost for all major agriculture commodities are the major demands of the AIKS. The ABKS delegation that will meet the Chief Minister tomorrow will comprise farmers' leaders from all over the State.

"Shame on Mokai Lounge for ever allowing this to happen", Juelle writes.

He said he supported the city manager's swift response to the incident. Almost 3,000 people signed a petition for police to take action against the club. Very seriously: "City Manager Morales ordered the immediate revocation of their business license effective immediately", a statement from the city read.

The video shows the white horse standing inside Mokai nightclub, in Miami, US, with hundreds of revellers watching on. Gelber told the Miami Herald.

It's not clear whether having a live horse in a nightclub would violate Miami Beach code, but it's common sense that horses are easily spooked by loud noises and unfamiliar settings. In posts now either private or removed, images of a donkey with the club name painted on it and a camel were paraded inside previously.
