Epic made a surprising announcement recently when it revealed that it was bringing Fortnite's incredibly popular Battle Royale mode to mobile, complete with cross-play.
For whatever reason, there seems to be a spanner in the works when it comes to uniting players on those two particular home consoles, and Microsoft has again suggested that spanner is called 'Sony'.
Even with Fortnite, the capability for Xbox One and PS4 gamers to play side-by-side is possible, as witnessed by a "configuration issue" that allowed gamers from each respective camp to play against one another for a brief period of time a year ago before it was shutdown.
As Kotaku points out, CD Projekt Red is only waiting on Microsoft and Sony to do the deal and it can setup cross-platform play between Gwent players on Xbox and PS4 too. "Cross-platform is already allowed between mobile, PC and Xbox or Playstation players, therefore proving there are no system limitations preventing this from happening".
International Solar Alliance launched
So far, 62 countries have signed the ISA framework agreement , out of which 32 have already ratified it. Out of the 27 projects for which Modi offered financial assistance, 23 of them are African countries.
"Epic Games and Microsoft, developer and manufacturer of Fortnite and the Xbox video-games console respectively, have both shown a willingness to allow Xbox and Playstation owners to play Fortnite against each other online". Similar functionality is coming soon for the Xbox One version. Spencer said at the time that he "would have liked to see them leave it on". The rampant success of Fortnite: Battle Royale has led to Fortnite landing on mobiles, cross-play and all.
Ultimately, it's the expected control scheme for Fortnite on mobile, even if it isn't the most elegant solution. If your friend got invited by Epic, check with them to see if they have a friend code to share with you. It is, however, not clear if it was a bug or an effort by Fortnite to demonstrate just how easy it is to enable the cross-platform play from the technical perspective, notes Forbes. "Exposing what in many cases are children to external influences we have no ability to manage or look after, it's something we have to think about very carefully".
For the Fortnite, Microsoft requires a paid subscription to Xbox Live Gold in order to play.
To participate, users will need an internet connection and iOS 11 on at least an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices.
