Broncos lock in Case Keenum's best weapon for 2018

John Elway is looking to free agency for his fix at quarterback following a season in which all three of his drafted QBs fell flat in Denver. Cousins is now deciding between the Vikings, the New York Jets and the Arizona Cardinals, Schefter reported. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft signed with Minnesota in 2016 and missed most of the season after undergoing surgery to fix a torn meniscus.

Keenum is a nice consolation prize for Denver, though.

Denver also was reportedly in the market for Kirk Cousins, who is set to leave the Redskins this week.

On a day when the Bengals were silent despite a flurry of action, it's only fitting McCarron's trip to free agency didn't get off to a hot start either. In 2015, his first season as the primary starter, Cousins led the league in completion percentage and with 29 touchdown passes.

Stefon Diggs of the Minnesota Vikings leaps to catch the ball thrown by Case Keenum in the fourth quarter of the NFC Divisional Playoff game against the New Orleans Saints on January 14, 2018 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Since Peyton Manning's retirement in 2016, the Broncos have featured a revolving door of starting quarterbacks acquired via free agency, a trade and the draft, and none of them have stuck.

Google Celebrates The International Pi Day Along With The Whole World
This year it's celebrated by Google with a Google Doodle designed by the inventor of the cronut , pastry chef Dominique Ansel . Pi Day is celebrated every year March 14 as the first three digits of pi are three, one and four, representing the date.

The Broncos had a glaring hole under center last season, cycling through Trevor Siemian, Paxton Lynch and Brock Osweiler en route to an unexpected 5-11 record and last-place finish in the AFC West.

It is not certain yet what sort of contract that Keenum, who made $2 million last season, will get. That allows the Broncos to address other needs and prevents them from stealing the likes of Baker Mayfield or Josh Allen from the Jets.

Despite his swings and misses at QB before, Elway said, "Believe me, I'm not done swinging and missing".

After back-to-back seasons in which the Broncos failed to make the playoffs, that sort of potential at the quarterback position could prove to be the missing piece.

The only way Denver bowing out of the quarterback race early could hurt NY is if the Broncos elect to trade the pick to a quarterback-needy team, which is a possibility. He missed seven games last season with an elbow injury and often played at the middle linebacker spot in the Bengals' scheme. But that doesn't go all on the players, too.
