Fargo, all Toys 'R' Us stores to close nationwide

That's a problem because Toys "R" Us is already burning almost $100 million per month. It still accounted for roughly 15 to 20 percent of US toy sales, an unusually high share for a retailer whose bankruptcy ends in liquidation, said Stephanie Wissink, managing director and consumer products analyst at Jeffries. "I want to thank our extraordinary team members who helped build Toys "R" Us into a global brand".

On Wednesday, the company announced it would close all 100 of its United Kingdom stores. But the likely liquidation will have a bigger impact on smaller toy makers, who rely more on the chain for sales.

The company didn't do enough to emphasize that it was reorganizing but not going out of business, Silver said.

The Wayne, N.J. -based retailer is still exploring options for selling its stronger Canadian business, including a plan that would save up to 200 top-performing USA stores as part of that deal.

Toys R Us gift cards will be honored for the next 30 days, a Toys R Us spokeswoman confirmed via email.

And many shoppers are looking to cash in on unused gift cards. "It's a big deal and I'm going to try to salvage as much of it as possible". You can sell your gift card on websites, such as Gift Card Granny.

The liquidation of 180 stores has been underway since last fall when the retailer filed for bankruptcy over almost $5 billion in debt.

The government is also learnt to have ruled out the possibility of proroguing of the Parliament in light of continued logjam. Earlier, when the House re-assembled, a copy of the Finance Bill was tabled amidst noisy scenes by opposition parties.

The stores won't be closing right away, but when they will shut their doors is unclear, so those with registries at Babies R Us are encouraged to open a registry at another store like Target, Walmart or Buy Buy Baby.

Tom Hadley was up from West Chester but wanted to make a quick stop at Toys "R" Us for his kids. The company says their value runs out soon.

"You have to look at this as an opportunity to reposition that store", she said.

In January, the company amended their initial statement, advising customers they would be closing 182 stores as part of a restructuring plan.

Toys R Us had dominated the toy store business in the 1980s and early 1990s, when it was one of the first of the "category killers"- a store totally devoted to one thing. The debt-saddled company expects the liquidation of 740 stores in the United States to be completed in the coming months.

Toys R Us reportedly notified employees Wednesday that the stores would likely close, according to a Wall Street Journal report. He added that he is also looking into buying as many as 400 USA stores, which he would seek to operate under the Toys R Us name.
