Clean sheet crucial for Reds and Oxlade-Chamberlain

Chamberlain, who joined Liverpool from Arsenal in January, put up a standout moment of his career with a stunning strike to put the Reds 2-0 ahead.

Towards the end of his last season with Arsenal, the England global struggled to find his best form and Arsene Wenger was blamed for the player's poor performances. "I showed myself that if it's on more often I can keep doing it".

The England global struggled initially at Anfield but has settled into Klopp's plans, scoring in the Champions League quarter-final victory over Manchester City in midweek.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was, in truth, being unduly harsh on himself but, equally, there was something refreshing about listening to this articulate 24-year-old talk with such maturity and candour. Where, at Arsenal, one good game may have been followed by three directionless performances, that trend needs to be reversed over the coming seasons.

"It got me going and I'm sure it got the rest of the boys going".

Klopp raided Arsenal to snap up Oxlade-Chamberlain last summer, with the midfielder having rejected the chance to stay at Arsenal and continue under Wenger.

"We're going to have to defend really well and we're going to have to go out there with confidence and attack as well". It gives you an opportunity to do things in a new way and that has helped him. But I wasn't too happy [with my performance].

Studio Ghibli co-founder Isao Takahata passes away
His extensive TV credits included the 1970s series Heidi , Girl of the Alps , based on the novel by Swiss author Johanna Spyri. While Hayao Miyazaki remained the best known director at Ghibli, Isao Takahata made some of the studio's most beloved movies.

"There were a few runs I did in the first half where I broke the line and it was just the last man I didn't manage to get past or didn't get the shot off and it is those moments where I could have had a second goal or set someone up that I can work on".

"I feel it was the right time".

"He [the referee] gave me a booking, but I was a bit disappointed because I hadn't conceded many fouls during the game".

Over the course of seven seasons with Arsenal, Oxlade-Chamberlain's career trajectory was both counter-intuitive and indicative of much of what is now wrong with the club.

"We definitely have qualities that are suited to this competition", he said.

"I could have been better on the ball and there are areas I need to improve on and can improve on".

"Now, he's flying, you can see the training at Liverpool that they must do".
