United States customers will be able to buy the first Fire TV Edition smart TV from Toshiba starting this summer, with more models coming in 2018.

Amazon's "International Shopping" will be available through a mobile browser or app, and goods will be shipped globally from the U.S. Customers have five languages to choose from, and Amazon is accepting payment in 25 currencies.

That "incredible user experience" that Fire TV Edition delivers, as Joly referenced, includes the ability to use one's voice to shop right from their couch.

Best Buy and Amazon, of course, still compete on many fronts, like selling electronic accessories and video games. Netflix is one of the key services Roku customers access through Roku set-top boxes and dongles and Roku-enabled smart TVs.

The new Fire TV Edition televisions are 4K sets that have Amazon's Fire platform built in. They can also be paired with a separate Echo device for external voice control.

Amazon is getting on Fire with Best Buy.

In addition to its own stores (an Amazon Go cashier-less convince store opened its doors earlier this year), Amazon is creating partnerships with traditional retailers in a sector that is threatened by its dominance.

As a first step in the partnership, Best Buy will launch more than ten 4K and HD Fire TV Edition models from Insignia and Toshiba, beginning this summer. Toshiba and Insignia will be building Fire TV Edition models that are available only at Best Buy.

But this new tie-up between the companies illustrates Best Buy's pragmatic and so far successful approach to its rival, which consists of focusing its efforts on initiatives that bring people to physical stores, whether it be store-in-store for emerging brands and sectors like smart home products, providing expertise to customers on things like installations, and showcasing products by companies like Google.
