Amy Adams Returns Home in First Trailer for HBO's 'Sharp Objects'

All that said, this new mini-series, based on Gillian Flynn's violent novel of the same name, is much more terrifying than B.L.L. was, and even several shades darker than Flynn's own bestseller-turned-blockbuster, Gone Girl.

During the season 2 premiere of Westworld, HBO dropped the first teaser trailer for its upcoming miniseries Sharp Objects - and it's every bit as chilling as you'd expect it to be. Jean-Marc Vallée directed the limited series. Adams plays reporter Camille Preaker, who returns to her hometown of Wind Gap, Missouri, to investigate the murders of two young girls and forcing her to face personal demons.

Amy Adams will star in the series as Camille Preaker. I also wouldn't be surprised if Adams ends up with an Emmy for her work unless that awards body wants to follow suit of the Oscars and just not give her all the awards she so richly deserves. Once she's back in her hometown, she also has to deal with her hard mother (played by Patricia Clarkson) and half sister, both of whom she's avoided for years.

Royal wedding: What will Meghan wear?
I think Meghan's dress will be in a delicate lace with very subtle beading, designed with a deep V neckline and long lace sleeve. Being photographed on red carpets had prepared her for the royal walkabouts and meeting the public .

'Momma said she saw a ghost once, ' a little girl could be heard saying.

Aside from the impressive cast (Chris Messina co-stars alongside Adams and Clarkson), the series was written by "To the Bone" director and "UnREAL" co-creator Marti Noxon. The eight-episode limited drama series premieres on HBO this July. Grew up in a Mormon family, a member of a religious organization formed in 1830 in the United States, officially called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints, the girl grew up finding out life was fun just like any other girls of her age.
