Knights the hottest show on Vegas Strip

The Sharks tied up the series at 1-1 with a 4-3 win in double OT in game-two.

National Hockey League action on Wednesday evening and a pair of teams from the Pacific Division will square off as the Vegas Golden Knights invade the SAP Center at San Jose in San Jose, California to battle it out with San Jose Sharks in game three of their best-of-seven series.

Down 3-2 with 6:32 remaining in the third period, Schmidt ripped a one timer past Martin Jones to tie the game. Jones finished with 29 saves.

Later, Fleury made a save on Timo Meier on which the puck popped up in the air and he batted it with his stick into his glove. "I just tried to follow the pass and get out there a bit and I had a little time to react on it", Fleury said.

Kane struck Bellemare in the arm and then the head after a whistle late in the third period of the Golden Knight's 7-0 win.

The Sharks responded strongly Saturday after having been flattened on Thursday.

San Jose (-130) is now the favorite over Vegas (+110), and the Over/Under (O/U) has been set at 6 goals (-135 to bet the under, +115 for the over).

Avonte Maddox would be a much higher pick if he wasn't just 5-foot-9 as he had 30 pass breakups over the past four seasons. When you are the defending Super Bowl champions, you need to make sure you do not stay complacent in the offseason.

Tomas Hertl got ahold of it and fed Couture, who one-timed in with just under nine minutes left in the second.

This Sharks team has what it takes. This time, Marc-Edouard Vlasic was trying to clear the puck out of the zone but Reilly Smith got a piece of it and got the puck to Karlsson, whose quick shot from the right side probably should have been stopped by Jones but got past the goalie 26 seconds into the period. The Sharks were making a strong push to take the lead and had several great chances.

Nerves: Fleury doesn't appear to have them.

Karlsson and Smith both had a goal and an assist; Karlsson's goal was the OT victor and he has nine points (4 G, 5 A) in the past five games.

The teams were skating four-on-four following a tussle between Marchessault and Vlasic when the Sharks pulled even. Both teams put up a defensive fight worthy of the Stanley Cup throughout the third period, keeping each other back through penalties and power plays, but it was the Knights who pulled out the overtime goal to give them the win.

"He's won three Stanley Cups", Couture said when asked if he's ever seen Fleury play better than right now.

The Golden Knights escaped Game 1 unblemished on the scoreboard, but they did not come away unscathed on the injury report. It was a much-needed win for the Sharks as they now control home ice returning to San Jose.

It was Karlsson's fourth goal of the playoffs thus far, and it's probably safe to say that Jones isn't the biggest fan of having to face the unsafe forward.
