Conservative Republicans seeking posts suggest Nobel Peace Prize for Trump

Moon held a summit with current leader Kim Jong Un last week in which Moon and Kim, the son of Kim Jong Il, walked together across the tense border and agreed to a raft of initiatives meant to ease animosity.

Trump has engaged in harsh rhetoric toward North Korea's leader since taking office, threatening to rain "fire and fury" on the nation if it didn't stop testing weapons.

Obama was nominated for the peace prize only 14 days into his presidency.

Beyond Obama, three other United States presidents have received the award: Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson and Jimmy Carter.

Current feedback from the leaders of the 2 Koreas have raised hopes.

All of that makes the suggestion that Trump should win the Nobel Peace Prize completely absurd.

"Although North Korea has evaded demands from the worldwide community to cease its aggression for decades, President Trump's peace through strength policies are working and bringing peace to the Korean peninsula", the letter says. The Prize Committee has not announce the nominees. During a re-election rally in MI on Saturday, the crowd broke out into a chant of "Nobel, Nobel" while Trump was discussing his efforts in North Korea.

Drake then responded on Instagram, commenting on a post about Perkins' response with his own. "I wasn't talking to [ Drake ]". Perkins later claimed that he was only "fucking with" an old teammate when Drake "butted in talking shit" to him.

"But thus far we have only handshakes, a hug and verbally expressed goals when it comes to peace between North and South Korea".

The meeting is highly anticipated for myriad reasons, including the fact Trump and Kim were engaged in a heated war of words only a few months ago.

On Wednesday, 18 House Republicans sent a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee urging it to consider Trump for next year's award in recognition of "his tireless work to bring peace to our world".

The US and China have been locked in a bitter dispute over tariffs on metals and other products, raising fears of a trade war between the world's two largest economies.
