Sergio Ramos' shithousery against Mo Salah took the Liverpool forward out of the Champions League final after just half an hour, much to the chagrin on Liverpool fans.

Liverpool star Mohamed Salah arrived in Egypt from Spain to join World Cup preparations after recovering from a shoulder injury he suffered in the Champions League final, sources at Cairo airport said on Thursday.

Eden Hazard scored once and assisted another goal in a 3-0 pre-World Cup friendly win over Egypt on Wednesday that gave anxious Belgium fans hope of a promising World Cup campaign. The Premier League's top scorer has been named in Egypt's squad for the tournament in Russian Federation and coach Hector Cuper badly needs him.

The Pharaohs will carry out their final training session in Egypt on Saturday night in Cairo before they travel to Russian Federation on Sunday.

After being named in the final 23-man squad, Salah is hopeful of recovering in time to feature in Egypt's first World Cup fixture in 28-years when they meet Uruguay on June 15, before facing Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia in the remainder of their Group A games.

They will then play against hosts Russian Federation and Saudi Arabia on June 19 and June 25. "Also anger and sadness for not being able to continue playing the Champions League final", he said.

"It's the first time in 28 years that we qualified".

"We've got a great team and a great coach". It was not normal because we won the African Cup seven times. Now I'm better, though.

"Moments later, I also thought about the possibility of not playing in the World Cup and that was a devastating thought".

"I don't think our performance was flawless, far from it", said Belgium coach Roberto Martinez.

Gernot Rohr's Super Eagles had already lost 2-1 to England at Wembley last weekend, while the Czechs - who failed to qualify for the World Cup - had lost 4-0 to Australia in their previous friendly outing.

"He sent me a message, but I never told him it was "fine, '" Salah, who also labelled Ramos" comments as "funny", told Marca on Saturday.
