Giuliani: Mueller Probe Defendants 'Not Excluded' From Presidential Pardons

"But I think it would be more helpful if the president never mentioned the word "pardon" again with respect to the Russian investigation", the Republican lawmaker told host Margaret Brennan.

"I'm very proud because he's got that spirit", Giuliani said of Trump. He retains his pardon power. "Nobody is taking that away from him, and he can pardon in his judgment based on the Justice Department counsel's office", he continued.

Trump attacked Manafort's jailing, saying on Twitter, "Wow, what a tough sentence for Paul Manafort". He also faces a July trial in Alexandria, Virginia, where he is charged with bank and tax fraud. But Manafort has not been sentenced, a judge revoked his house arrest on allegations of witness tampering. In February, Trump's former deputy campaign manager, Rick Gates, pleaded guilty to lying to investigators and to numerous same financial-crime charges brought against Manafort, Gates' former boss.

Goodlatte notified his Democratic counterpart New York Rep.

"We want the Mueller probe to be investigated the way the Trump administration has been investigated", Rudy Giuliani said on CNN's "State of the Union".

The IG report did not look into the Trump campaign's activities and is completely separate from the Mueller Russia probe.

It said he was wounded below the knee while trying to take a photo of a wounded protester after Israeli troops opened fire. At least 128 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since protests broke out along the Gaza border on March 30.

The comments from President Donald Trump's personal lawyer come after the Justice Department's inspector general released a 500-page report about the behavior of senior Federal Bureau of Investigation officials during the 2016 election.

The former mayor of NY, who is part of the President's legal team in the Russian Federation investigation, was on Staten Island campaigning for Republican Rep. Dan Donovan. Nevertheless, Giuliani supports the idea of having Horowitz investigate the origins of the Russian Federation probe to determine whether it's trustworthy. It was critical of former Director James Comey, calling him "insubordinate".

"I believe that the Mueller investigation should be investigated not because necessarily of Mueller but because of its genesis in this very, very now completely nearly illegal and unethical probe, this Russian probe", he said. "I don't think Mueller and his people need to be investigated - unless something comes out of that".

Mr. Giuliani supports the idea of having IG Horowitz investigate the origins of the Russian Federation probe to determine whether it is trustworthy. "I did nothing wrong, there was no obstruction". The phony Russian Collusion was a made up Hoax. What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others? Trump reacted by playing down Manafort's role in his campaign. "And he didn't leave it until July of a year ago", Giuliani said in an interview with CNN host Jake Tapper on Sunday.

"In a situation like this, there are going to be a lot of differing recollections and a lot of corrections are going to be necessary", Giuliani said. "The president wants to do it". Giuliani said, seemingly referring to the inspector general's report released Thursday.

"I doubt it", he said.
