Perhaps James wanted to join the Lakers because of his family's wishes and his own aspirations in the film and entertainment industry.

The Spurs have reportedly refused to deal Leonard to the Lakers, because the two teams play in the same conference.

King James ended speculation about where he will play next season by inking a massive four-year, $154-million contract with the Lakers.

Not too long ago, disgruntled star Kawhi Leonard asked the San Antonio Spurs to trade him, with Los Angeles as his preferred destination.
